(Advanced) Software Engineer – Digital Patient Model Services (C++)

As an (Advanced) Software Engineer – Digital Patient Model Services (C++), you will help shape one of the core elements of the Snke platform. You will contribute to building the Digital Patient Model – a “digital twin” that transforms complex clinical data into an anatomical reference model. Your work will enable the planning, execution and optimization of medical procedures and directly contribute to safer and more precise patient care.

What you’ll do

• Develop and maintain modular C++ services forming the backbone of the Digital Patient Model
• Build and optimize backend logic for APIs (gRPC, Protocol Buffers) to deliver reliable medical data to clinical applications
• Work with modern C++ (C++20), including asynchronous programming and coroutines, to solve concurrency and low-latency challenges
• Ensure seamless integration between data processing pipelines and machine learning outputs
• Own the full software lifecycle: from concept and implementation to testing and deployment
• Contribute to automation and stable release processes
• Support internal teams and external partners in integrating Digital Patient Model services into their applications
• Collaborate closely with experienced engineers in a high-impact, mission-driven environment

What we are looking

• Degree in Computer Science or a related field
• Strong knowledge of modern C++ (C++20) and asynchronous programming
• Experience or strong interest in distributed systems, backend architectures and API-driven services
• Solid understanding of software engineering best practices (clean, maintainable, testable code)
• Familiarity with version control (Git) and scripting/automation (e.g. Python or PowerShell)
• Structured, analytical mindset and a collaborative working style
• Bonus: Experience with gRPC, Protocol Buffers, or high-performance/data-intensive applications
