Backend Engineer | PHP & Golang

Your tasks

• Develop cutting‑edge technology and design scalable, robust backend solutions for our Kaufland Marketplaces.
• Take ownership of end‑to‑end feature development, from designing and coding to testing, deployment, and monitoring in production environments.
• Work closely with different stakeholders and engineers, communicating effectively to achieve a common goal.
• Contribute to the evolution of our development processes and methodologies, exploring new tools and technologies that enhance our engineering practices.
• Write clean, maintainable, and high‑performance code while adhering to best practices.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers in pair programming sessions, fostering a culture of learning and growth.

Your profile

• You have an educational level that corresponds to completed university studies in (business) information technology, (business) engineering, mathematics, or physics, or you have comparable practical experience.
• You are an expert in PHP, but you don’t limit yourself to one language; you prioritize finding the best solution for every problem, which makes you eager to deep‑dive into other languages like Golang and contribute to our international e‑commerce platform with a versatile mindset.
• Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, databases, and microservices architecture, and familiarity with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• You have the drive to continuously develop both yourself and your team further in order to become a little bit better every day.
• As a member of our Backend Foundations team, you are driven by engineering excellence and empower our product teams by building highly efficient solutions that serve as the backbone for delivering seamless and scalable product features.
• You embrace AI‑driven development and utilize modern AI tools to increase your efficiency so you can focus on problem‑solving and high‑quality output within a fast‑paced environment.
