Business Unit President - Automotive

Position Overview

Morgan Latif has been exclusively retained by a leading European automotive supplier to appoint a Business Unit President to lead one of its business units.

With a strong technological foundation and an established Global footprint, the organisation is entering an ambitious growth phase focused on expanding international sales, strengthening operational performance, and scaling the project business significantly over the coming years.

The incoming CEO will have full leadership responsibility for the business, driving commercial growth, strengthening customer partnerships, and leading the organisation through the next stage of strategic expansion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the growth strategy for an international automotive supplier business.
  • Own full P&L delivery, driving revenue growth, profitability, cash flow, and operational performance.
  • Lead OEM and Tier 1 customer relationships, strengthening the company’s commercial position and market presence.
  • Drive complex RFQ, nomination, pricing, contract, and programme acquisition processes.
  • Scale the business through customer diversification, new platforms, product innovation, and international growth.
  • Build and lead a high‑performing team across sales, engineering, operations, quality, finance, and programme management.
  • Ensure flawless programme execution from award through SOP, ramp‑up, serial production, and lifecycle support.
  • Drive operational excellence across manufacturing, supply chain, quality, cost, and delivery.
  • Represent the business externally with customers, suppliers, shareholders, and industry stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Proven CEO, Managing Director, or General Manager experience within an automotive supplier or advanced manufacturing business.
  • Strong track record with OEMs and Tier 1 customers.
  • Experience leading RFQs, programme awards, customer negotiations, and long‑term supply contracts.
  • Full P&L responsibility in an international manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of automotive quality, cost, delivery, engineering, and programme management requirements.
  • Able to lead international, multi‑site teams.
  • Strategic, entrepreneurial, commercially sharp, and operationally hands‑on.
  • Degree in engineering, business, or related discipline.
  • Fluent German and English.
