Role Overview

This Commissioning Manager role is based on a large-scale data centre project in Frankfurt, Germany, reporting directly to the Regional Commissioning Manager. You will own commissioning delivery across complex mechanical and electrical systems, manage commissioning engineers, coordinate vendors, and drive programme milestones to final handover.

Must Have Requirements

• Proven experience as a Commissioning Manager or senior leadership role on data centre or mission‑critical projects.
• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or a strong commissioning background with 5+ years in a commissioning leadership role.
• Strong understanding of both mechanical and electrical systems within complex construction environments.
• Experience managing commissioning programmes, FATs, FWTs, testing procedures, and final handover processes.
• Strong client‑facing and stakeholder management experience within live project environments.

Preferred Experience

• Experience on hyperscale data centre projects across Europe.
• Mechanical or Electrical bias with cross‑discipline commissioning knowledge.
• Experience with major M&E contractors or turnkey delivery contractors.
• Strong reporting and commissioning documentation management experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Commissioning Engineers across the project.
• Define commissioning scopes and manage delivery in line with programme requirements.
• Track commissioning milestones, identify risks, and implement corrective actions.
• Coordinate commissioning schedules with project teams, vendors, and client representatives.
• Act as the main point of contact for commissioning activities across the project.
• Attend and lead commissioning meetings with internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
• Oversee FATs, FWTs, integrated systems testing, and commissioning sequencing.
• Ensure commissioning activities comply fully with project specifications and quality standards.
• Coordinate closely with QA/QC teams to ensure successful testing and handover.
• Manage commissioning documentation including test scripts, compliance records, and sign‑off procedures.
• Support final handover and closeout activities across all systems.

• Excellent technical understanding of mechanical and electrical commissioning activities.
• Confident managing multiple stakeholders within fast‑paced construction environments.
• Strong programme awareness with the ability to drive commissioning milestones.
• Detail‑focused with strong reporting and documentation skills.
• Proven ability to lead commissioning teams and coordinate subcontractors and vendors.
• Strong understanding of health and safety requirements associated with M&E commissioning works.
