Design Coordinator Construction

As Design Coordinator Construction (m/f/d), you are responsible for managing and coordinating all design-related aspects of construction projects – from the concept phase to completion. You act as a liaison between architecture, specialist planning, engineering, and execution, ensuring that all planning services comply with German building regulations, technical standards, and the company’s quality objectives.

Your focus is on planning optimization, technical integration, and value engineering to successfully implement efficient, cost‑optimized, and sustainable real estate projects.

Your tasks

• Control and coordination of all design and planning‑related aspects of construction projects from the concept phase to the execution planning.
• Interface management between architecture, specialist planning (MEP/TGA), structural engineering and execution.
• Ensuring compliance with all relevant German building regulations and standards (including BauGB, HOAI, VOB, AHO).
• Coordination, review and quality assurance of planning and execution documents; schedule and milestone management within the planning phases; optimisation of costs, schedules and quality through value engineering and life cycle‑oriented solutions (LCC).
• Integration and coordination of building services engineering (TGA) and building automation planning, taking into account efficiency, sustainability, and technical feasibility.
• Support for approval and release processes as well as coordination with authorities.
• Active stakeholder management and ensuring transparent, targeted communication.
• Maintaining and ensuring data quality in project and documentation systems; participation in contract and change order management as well as administration of contract‑related documents.

Your profile

• Several years of experience in design coordination, technical project control or project management of construction projects.
• Excellent understanding of construction processes and interdisciplinary planning.
• Sound knowledge of German construction law and the regulations HOAI, VOB and AHO.
• Experience in the coordination and integration of MEP/MEP planning.
• Proven expertise in value engineering and in the development of economic, technical and sustainable solutions.
• Experience with project documentation as well as approval and release procedures.
• Confident use of digital planning tools (e.g. AutoCAD, Revit).
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook), especially for data analysis and professional reports.
• Very good German (minimum C1) and very good English skills.
