Hardware Operations & Procurement Specialist

Stellenbeschreibung:

Who We Are:

At Watergenics, we care deeply about water and the life that thrives on it. Pollution is on the rise, yet efforts to restore our blue reserves are slow. To solve these problems, one must measure them, but live water data remains sparse and expensive. We aim to make water quality visible anytime, anywhere, and create the Water Data Platform for the Planet. Join our diverse, skilled, and passionate team who is eager to eradicate water pollution!

Your Role:

As a Hardware Operations & Procurement Specialist (m/f/d) (40 hours/week), you will manage the physical lifecycle of our products, bridging the gap between technical engineering and commercial execution. Your goal is to ensure all hardware components are sourced, tracked, and stored efficiently to support seamless production.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Purchasing: Source hardware components, negotiate pricing and contracts with local and global suppliers, and manage vendor relationships.
  • Supply Chain & Logistics: Track lead times, coordinate international shipments, and proactively manage supply risks to avoid component shortages.
  • BOM & Lifecycle Management: Maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOM), manage technical revisions and version control, and identify alternatives for end‑of‑life (EOL) components.
  • Warehouse & Inventory Management: Organize physical stock, oversee incoming goods inspections, and maintain an optimized inventory system to ensure components are always available for production.
  • Documentation Management: Oversee the lifecycle of technical datasheets and compliance certificates (e.g., CE, RoHS). Track the progress of documentation workflows and ensure all hardware records are kept up‑to‑date and accurate.
  • Operational Coordination: Act as the primary interface between R&D, Finance, and Production teams to align project timelines and hardware availability.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Equivalent practical experience is also welcome.
  • 2–5 years of experience in procurement, supply chain, logistics, or hardware operations.
  • Experience managing international suppliers and shipments is a plus.
  • Ability to understand technical specifications, datasheets, and hardware components.
  • Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills with a proactive and hands‑on mindset.
  • Interest in working at the intersection of business and hardware operations.
  • Professional fluency in English and German (written and spoken) is required for vendor negotiations and internal coordination.

What we offer:

  • Attractive salary based on experience.
  • Monthly Deutschland Ticket.
  • 28 vacation days per year.
  • A bright and spacious design office in Kreuzberg, Berlin.
  • A young, international and open‑minded team.
  • The opportunity to learn fast and make a real impact in the water sustainability space.
  • Enjoy regular team lunches, social events, and opportunities to build lasting professional relationships.
  • A dynamic startup environment with room for growth and ownership.

Location: This role is on‑site in our Kreuzberg office in Berlin.
