With its products and a comprehensive range of services, Serviva GmbH supports corporate groups, large companies, small and medium-sized clients as well as (patent) law firms in dealing with industrial property rights (with a focus on patents and trade marks).

For our Berlin office we are looking for an

(full-time or part-time)

to strengthen our IT team. The IT team is, among other things, the central point of contact for the operation of internal systems (Windows, Linux) and standardised customer systems (Windows, Linux) operated by us.

• Administration and maintenance of our Windows and Linux servers
• Ensuring network availability and security
• Implementation and maintenance of virtualisation solutions
• Supporting the planning and implementation of IT security concepts
• Hardware and software troubleshooting and correction

As a system administrator, you have good knowledge in the following areas:

• Operating systems: Experience with Windows Server, Linux (e.g. Ubuntu, CentOS)
• Network administration including virtual networks and firewall configuration
• Virtualisation solutions (VMware vSphere)
• Security knowledge: Understanding of IT security policies, backup strategies and data protection regulations
• Hardware knowledge: Ability to install, maintain and troubleshoot server and network equipment
• Knowledge of working with Docker is desirable

At our company, you will use this knowledge to ensure the secure and reliable operation of the systems entrusted to the IT team. As part of the IT team, you will work on expanding and optimising the system landscape.

In addition, you will support the customer support team and the software project teams with your reliable and dedicated work in third-level support, e.g. when installing customer systems and with connectivity issues.

Your profile

• Completed training in the IT sector or comparable qualification
• Sound knowledge of system and network administration
• Experience with virtualisation technologies
• Good knowledge of data backup and recovery
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team
• Independent and goal-orientated way of working
