IT System Engineer Windows Server (gn) full-time / part-time (hybrid)

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the implementation, administration, monitoring and continuous development of IT systems and services in a Windows server environment, ensuring compliance with applicable security policies.
• Analyze and resolve incidents as part of 2nd‑ and 3rd‑level support to maintain stable and reliable operations.
• Ensure smooth system operations and correct, efficient licensing within the scope of lifecycle management.
• Continuously enhance existing systems to sustainably increase security, efficiency, and stability.
• Manage and oversee external partners and service providers in close coordination with the responsible manager.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of concepts in the area of server and application operations, taking defined security policies into account.
• Support the planning, coordination and execution of IT and business projects during the implementation, testing and rollout phases.
• Advise business departments on projects and changes to IT services, systems and applications, and analyze and evaluate technical, functional and process‑related requirements, including automation potential.

Qualifications

• Relevant professional experience operating complex, heterogeneous server infrastructures as well as application servers based on Microsoft Windows Server.
• Very good knowledge of Microsoft server technologies such as Windows Server, Hyper‑V, Active Directory, Entra ID, Group Policies and File Services.
• Confidence in using Windows PowerShell and routine application for administration and automation.
• Basic hands‑on experience operating hybrid infrastructures consisting of on‑premises, multi‑cloud, and hybrid cloud environments, and services such as IaaS, PaaS and SaaS, including integration.
• Experience in working with external service providers and partners and the ability to manage them in a structured manner.
• Analytical, structured and independent work style with the ability to maintain an overview even in complex situations.
• Strong communication skills, teamwork, and a high level of responsibility.
• Fluent in German and English, both written and spoken.
