Project Manager GE LEO Constellation Ground Segment and Operation (m/w/d)

The Future Programmes & Services department (TCADN) within Space Digital (DACH) manages satellite communication projects with a strong operation/service focus and business development close to sales. The role focuses on implementing and operating satellite ground segments for the military/government sector.

Location: Airbus Site in Taufkirchen or Friedrichshafen / Immenstaad

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and monitor projects from conception to completion.
• Secure successful campaign as responsible program representative including realistic costing, implementation schedule and risk assessment.
• Define project goals, scope, resources, and schedules.
• Lead interdisciplinary project teams and assign tasks.
• Identify and manage project risks and issues.
• Communicate with external and internal stakeholders to understand and meet their needs.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and processes.
• Accountability for expected project outcomes (P/L).
• Prepare project reports and presentations for management.
• Continuously improve project management methods and processes.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners and subcontractors.
• Take on business development tasks for the assigned area.

Required Knowledge and Qualifications

• University degree in engineering, business administration, or related field.
• Several years of experience in project management, ideally in the defense and space sectors.
• Experience as a satellite‑based ground segment project or program manager including procurement strategy definition.
• Technical experience with LEO constellation architecture and E2E aspects is beneficial.
• Strong communication skills and stakeholder management experience.
• Leadership experience and ability to motivate teams.
• Results and cost awareness.
• Excellent written and spoken English; willingness to learn German at C2 level.
• Proficiency in project management tools and methods.
• Independent, structured, solution‑oriented work style.
• Team spirit and resilience.
