R&D Engineer for Image Processing, Graphics, and AI

Voxray GmbH is a small startup that specializes in developing advanced software for industrial computed tomography. Our Quantum Reconstruction Technique (QRT) software excels in detecting defects, particularly in composite materials and specialized CT methods such as robotic CT and laminography, by minimizing typical reconstruction artifacts. Our software is already used and trusted by many customers in industries such as aerospace, automotive, battery technologies, semiconductors, electronics and others.

Voxray GmbH was founded in 2023 out of the university Erlangen-Nuremberg and has an office in Nuremberg, Eberhardshof.

We just started operating our own robotic-CT system there, opening up a lot of potential for future research and development.

Role Description

This is a full-time role for a Research and Development (R&D) Engineer specializing in AI, computer vision, computer graphics or 3D reconstruction. The goal is to enhance the image quality of our CT reconstruction software with bespoke AI models without introducing new artifacts or hallucinations.

Your daily tasks would include researching, implementing, training AI models, evaluating, testing and getting everything polished and production ready with the option to also write research papers.

Qualifications

• Deep technical understanding and hands-on implementation experience in deep learning, computer graphics or 3D reconstruction.
• Python, CUDA, C++ expertise
• Excellent ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in hybrid work settings
• Degree or PhD in Computer Science
• Option to publish research papers and attend conferences during working hours
• Flexibility to work remotely, but we have cozy office in Nuremberg with a great atmosphere
• High impact work in a small and agile team
