Senior Data Platform Engineer

As part of the Platform tribe, you will help build a self‑service, AI‑Ready Data Platform. The Data Platform team supports our next big bets: Data, AI, and real‑time analytics. We are a team focused on building scalable, reliable infrastructure to enable our global data community.

What you’ll do

• Build and maintain best‑in‑class data infrastructure for critical processes.
• Develop features that strengthen self‑service, including for ETL and orchestration.
• Optimise processes to use compute more efficiently and reduce cost.
• Automate operations so the platform stays highly available.
• Contribute to the design and implementation of new services.

You’ll be a strong fit if you

• Have experience with infrastructure as code and containerisation (e.g. Terraform, Helm, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Have used modern query engines (e.g. Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Trino).
• Have worked with modern data orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow, Dagster).
• Are proficient in at least one of our main languages: Python or Go.
• Bring a pragmatic, team‑first mindset.
• Are self‑motivated, work well independently, and can balance stakeholder needs.

Nice to have

• Experience building and operating performant API layers.
• Experience with dbt for transform, test, and documentation workflows.
• Query optimisation at scale.
• Real‑time streaming (e.g. Kafka, Flink, StarRocks, Pinot, Druid, ClickHouse).
• Experience with systems at petabyte scale.
• Experience implementing AI‑enabled systems (e.g. agentic SRE, AI automation).
