Job Overview

Position: Technical Assistant (m/f/x) in the Chair of Cell and Tissue Control at the Cluster of Excellence ‘Physics of Life’, TU Dresden.
Salary: Group E 9a TV‑L (subject to personal qualification).
Start as soon as possible, time limitation 31 March 2030 (extension possible). Part‑time suitable; indicate preference in application.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for experimental work using molecular and cell biological methods, including production of recombinant DNA constructs and cultivation of mammalian cell lines.
• Organise laboratory activities: occupational safety measures, procurement, and the planning of laboratory events and workshops.
• Train new group members, students and interns in laboratory procedures.

Requirements

• Completed vocational training as a biological‑technical assistant (BTA) or chemical‑technical assistant (CTA) with state certification and several years of professional experience, or equivalent as a biology/chemistry laboratory technician.
• Knowledge of molecular and cell biology.
• Good English and German skills (mandatory).
• Good computer skills (MS Office, internet).
• Experience in laboratory organisation is desirable.
• High motivation and ability to work in a team (required).
• Professional experience in a comparable environment is preferred.
