Job Description

Part‑time (16 hours per week, including travel, averaged monthly; adjusted based on available funds). Deputation with a goal of $30,000 annually to be raised by the employee; up to $20,000 part‑time salary, to be provided by CLS the first year of employment. As this is a part‑time position, health benefits and dental insurance are not included.

Location

Multiple (see description). Desired regions: NYC metro region, Washington, D.C. metro region, Southern California, possibly Texas or Florida.

Supervisors

Brent Amato, Chicagoland and National Barnabas Coordinator; Directors of Attorney and Law Student Ministries.

Responsibilities

Represent the Christian Legal Society throughout the region in all aspects of work, including meetings with lawyers and law students and promoting CLS to churches and other functions.
Work with local CLS Attorney Chapters and other CLS groups: discipleship, mentoring and coaching (Fellow‑Traveling) under guidelines.
Teach and speak: lead Bible studies, speak at local events and write articles for CLS periodicals.
Act as liaison between attorney chapters and local law school chapters.
Coordinate efforts with CLS in the ministry.
Develop, administer and participate in an annual Regional Retreat.
Participate in staff calls and projects when appropriate.
Oversee law school campus work: identify primary and secondary focus schools, create/maintain CLS student chapters, advise on leadership, maintain contact lists, connect local attorneys, etc.

Qualifications

Experienced attorneys with a passion for ministry and supporting attorneys and law students.
Ability to travel within assigned region.
Strong communication and teaching skills.
Experience in mentoring, coaching, leadership, or program development preferred.
