Senior ABAP Developer – Software Architecture

Location: Nuremberg or Bad Homburg, Germany (Hybrid – 3 days/week onsite)

Duration: 6-month contract

Experience: 6–10 years

Languages: Fluency in German and English required

Role Summary

We are looking for a Senior ABAP Developer with strong software architecture experience to support the SAP S/4HANA migration and ongoing development of Fiserv‑owned applications. This role combines architectural design with hands‑on ABAP development in a hybrid SAP landscape (ECC 6.0 and S/4HANA). The successful candidate will be a key contributor to solution design, implementation, and production support activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize SAP solutions using ABAP and ABAP Objects (ABAP‑OO).
• Build and enhance applications leveraging Modulpool, Batch‑Input, and RESTful APIs.
• Support S/4HANA migration, ensuring seamless integration and adaptation of existing systems.
• Perform developer testing, troubleshoot issues, and manage defect resolution.
• Provide production support and continuous improvements for business‑critical applications.
• Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to align technical design with business needs.

Required Skills & Experience

• 6–10 years of hands‑on SAP ABAP development experience.
• Deep understanding of SAP S/4HANA and ECC 6.0 EHP8 environments.
• Proven expertise in object‑oriented design, architecture, and integration across SAP modules.
• Strong debugging, performance optimization, and troubleshooting capabilities.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Fluency in German and English (spoken and written) is mandatory.
