Job Description

The Financial Controlling Manager DACH is responsible for providing key controllership leadership and guidance to the finance and non-finance teams for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. This will include active involvement in financial reporting of the company, implementation of its policies and internal controls, and leading audit requirements.

In this role, you will use your experience and expertise to solve problems, execute objectives for self and others, and impact short-term and some long-term business goals. The candidate will be responsible for effectively executing the statutory activities for all legal entities within the region, as well as overseeing the execution of the statutory organization deliverables.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Audit requirements:
  • Manage internal and external audit works for your Region to ensure on-time delivery of the statutory requirements.
  • Utilize technical knowledge to discuss technical matters with the audit team.
  • Coordinate all deliverables with the relevant owners & responsible parties to ensure documentation is provided to high quality and on time.
  • Ensure that any findings are resolved with appropriate owners.
  • Look for opportunities to improve the audit process.
  • Ensure proper documentation of S2G (STAT to GAAP) adjustments.
  • Direct and guide the business organization with the required disclosures and notes required for the statutory filings.
  • Support the compilation of local supplementary statistical filings.
• Transactional tax:
  • Oversee the compliance of the transactional tax filings required for your region.
• Technical controllership:
  • Ensure compliance with GE policies.
  • Facilitate implementations of new rules and new tools impacting finance reporting.
  • Review processes to improve overall efficiency.
  • Collaborate with the Vernova Hub and Genpact teams to ensure compliance, integrity of the accounts, and harmonisation of the accounting treatment.
• Team leadership:
  • Responsible for the oversight of a team that will support with the execution of the statutory goals.
  • Drive and encourage processes improvements and legal entities simplification.
  • Collaborate with in-country service providers to identify opportunities to reduce statutory costs and manage risks.

Key Qualifications

• A degree in accounting or finance and/or a recognised accounting qualification.
• A consistent career within auditing, accounting, or financial reporting – ideally over 8 years of relevant hands-on experience.
• A minimum of 3 years leading teams under these domains.
• Managing statutory audits/project management experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency of local German and US accounting requirements.
• Previous experience with tax aspects (direct and indirect).
• Fluent in English and German.
• Highly proficient use of MS Office, SAP experience preferable.
