App Developer (Node.js Migration Project)

Overview
We are seeking an experienced App Developer to lead the migration of our existing project from Bubble to a Node.js server environment. The role requires strong back-end development skills, server deployment expertise, and experience migrating applications from no-code/low-code platforms to scalable architectures. This is initially a 3-month project with potential for extension depending on project success.

Job Highlights

• Monthly Rate: PHP 80,000-86,000
• Number of Paid Hours Per Week: Full-time (40 hours per week)
• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM EST, with 1-hour unpaid break
• Work Arrangement: Work from home
• Contract: Independent Contractor, project-based with potential extension
• Start Date: Immediate
• Side Note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and the arrangement is that of an “Independent Contractor,” the selected candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.

Responsibilities

• Project Migration: Lead the transition of a fully developed Bubble application to Node.js.
• Server Setup & Deployment: Configure, optimize, and maintain Node.js servers for stability, security, and performance.
• API Development & Integration: Build or refine RESTful APIs to replace or extend Bubble-based workflows.
• Database Management: Transfer and optimize existing data models into scalable database solutions (SQL/NoSQL).
• Testing & QA: Ensure functionality is preserved during migration with rigorous testing, debugging, and optimization.
• Documentation: Provide clear documentation for architecture, setup, and maintenance.
• Collaboration: Work with internal and third-party dev teams to align deliverables with project timelines.

Requirements
Experience

• 5–10 years of professional app development experience.
• Proven work migrating apps from low-code platforms (Bubble, Adalo, Glide, etc.) to full-stack frameworks.

Core Skills

• Proficiency in Node.js and related frameworks (Express.js, NestJS, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Database design and optimization (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL, etc.).
• Experience with API design and integration.
• Understanding of server deployment and cloud hosting (AWS, GCP, Azure).

Bonus Skills

• Familiarity with Bubble workflows and architecture.
• DevOps knowledge (CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes).
• Front-end integration (React, Vue, Angular).

Soft Skills

• Strong problem-solving ability.
• Clear communication and attention to detail.
• Ability to work within deadlines.
