What you'll build

As an Associate Software Engineer, you'll contribute to the development, delivery, and maintenance of the Integrated Development Environments (IDEs) and tools used to build business software with ABAP

After a comprehensive onboarding, you will:

• Develop and evolve infrastructure and IDE components, primarily using ABAP, Java, and TypeScript
• Integrate generative AI capabilities into ABAP tooling—transforming how business applications are developed
• Enhance cloud-readiness and modern development practices within the ABAP environment
• Explore emerging trends in AI, pro-code development, and IDE evolution to drive innovatio

What you bring

You have a strong foundation in software engineering through academic studies or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science or related technical fields.

We're looking for someone with:

• Experience gained through academic work, internships, or personal projects with professional coding tools or IDEs
• Proficiency in object-oriented programming, ideally in Java or TypeScript
• Exposure to Eclipse Plugin or Visual Studio Code Extension development
• Fluent communication skills in both German and English

You're also:

• A collaborative team player who enjoys working in cross-functional settings
• Analytical and eager to solve complex technical challenges
• Quality-driven and passionate about building robust, scalable solutions
