Chief Information Officer

We’re hiring a Chief Information Officer (CIO) on behalf of a soon-to-be independent, highly profitable software business currently going through a strategic carve-out. Backed by a global private equity firm, this role offers a rare opportunity to lead end-to-end IT strategy and transformation across a global technology function.

About the Role

This is a newly created position, ideal for a technology leader who thrives in environments where value creation, operational efficiency, and decisive action are key. You’ll be responsible for managing a team of 30+ FTE across engineering, product, and infrastructure.

Value Creation, optimise systems, and accelerate digital transformation in preparation for long-term, sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and lead global IT strategy aligned to business goals
• Lead ERP transformation
• Drive IT cost optimisation: rationalise vendors, systems, and services
• Oversee cybersecurity strategy, cloud infrastructure, and compliance
• Modernise legacy environments and introduce scalable, cloud-first solutions
• Champion digital workplace initiatives (MS365, Power Platform)
• Build strong cross-functional relationships, especially within long-tenured teams
• Play a strategic role in business change, decision-making, and value realisation

Key Requirements

• Proven experience as CIO or equivalent in global, mid-to-large scale environments
• Strong background in cost reduction, digital transformation & operational change
• Experience in carve-outs or private equity-backed businesses highly desirable
• Deep expertise in enterprise systems, cloud (AWS/M365), and cybersecurity
• Decisive leadership style with a pragmatic, delivery-focused approach
• Fluent English (German language a plus)
• Ideally based in Germany or the UK — remote-first, with travel as needed
• Available to start by October 2025
