Chief Project Officer – Renewable Energy – Europe – €Excellent + Bonus + Package

A leading Independent Power Producer in the renewable energy sector is seeking a Chief Project Officer to oversee the execution of a multi-GW pipeline of renewable projects across solar, wind, and battery storage (BESS).

This newly created role will be central to driving the company’s transformation and growth as it scales from a national to a regional leader in clean energy.

The Opportunity

This is a rare chance to join a fast-growing renewable energy platform. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering over 3GW of projects by 2028, while shaping how the organization executes and scales into new geographies.

The Role

As CPO, you will:

• Lead and mentor a team of Project Directors, each managing multiple large-scale renewable projects.
• Oversee collaboration across engineering, procurement, construction, and BESS teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest standards.
• Define and implement best practice in project execution, risk management, and quality assurance.
• Drive organisational change and strategy, building and restructuring teams as needed to deliver on ambitious growth plans.
• Represent the implementation function in strategic discussions with key stakeholders and partners.

The Profile

We are seeking an experienced executive with:

• A strong background in renewable energy project delivery, ideally including utility-scale BESS.
• Proven track record leading multi-disciplinary teams and delivering complex projects (100MW+).
• Solid grounding in electrical engineering or similar technical expertise.
• Experience engaging with international partners and operating within a global organisation.
• Strategic leadership capability, able to set vision while managing detail through project leaders.
