Cloud Automation and Innovation - IT Architecture Expert (f/m/d)

We are seeking a Cloud Automation and Innovation - IT Architecture Expert (f/m/d) to join SAP in Enterprise Cloud Services (ECS). The role involves leading architecture, automation and innovation initiatives to drive SAP HANA adoption, scalable cloud offerings for mission-critical operations, and improvements to BUILD and RUN processes.

What you'll do

• Serve as lead architect for a specific project within the ECS CAE Technology and Architecture Cloud Automation and Innovation team, supporting strategic projects and architecture initiatives.
• End-to-end project ownership to deliver on time and within budget, often spanning cross-team and cross-country collaboration.
• Develop, consolidate, and drive the ECS architecture, automation, and innovation roadmap aligned with SAP business targets.

What you bring

• Experienced IT system landscape architect with a proven track record leading complex architectures across distributed SAP technologies.
• Technical experience with ECS-supported hyperscalers (Azure, AWS, GCP) and private cloud; hyperscaler certifications are a plus.
• Strong experience in end-to-end automation for provisioning and operating SAP landscapes and lifecycle management.
• Deep knowledge of operating systems (RHEL or SUSE certifications are a plus).
• Strong experience with encryption standards, PKI, host intrusion detection, and vulnerability management (OpenSCAP).
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, configuration management, and version control (GIT).
• Experience with CI/CD concepts and automated integration and deployment of agile principles.
• Solid understanding of SAP technical consulting and expertise in S/4HANA and NetWeaver.
• Software development background in ABAP, Java, Python or similar is a plus.
• Experience with SAP applications and tools such as Landscape Management (LaMa), Focused Run (FRUN), etc., is a plus.
• High level of personal maturity, goal-oriented, and ability to work with highly technical experts.
• Fluent in English and German.
