The role is for an International Customer Project Manager (m/f/d) who will drive the successful execution of a complex, large-scale project, including production facilities for banknotes, coins, security documents, and passport, as well as intralogistics and automation systems. You will serve as the primary liaison with our clients to manage project execution from contract signing through final acceptance and beyond. You will work with a highly skilled team of subject matter experts and participate in delivering a major international project. Location: Munich. Requisition-ID: 25696.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional project teams and act as the central point of contact for sub-project managers, subject matter experts, internal departments, external partners, suppliers, and stakeholders.
• Represent Giesecke+Devrient in all interactions with the client's stakeholders.
• Ensure project execution aligns with company standards, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements.
• Manage interfaces with global corporate functions, clients, and suppliers to ensure seamless project delivery.
• Oversee both technical and commercial aspects, including reporting, cost control, contract management, and budgeting.
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor all project phases—from engineering and manufacturing to shipping, installation, integration, commissioning, and final acceptance—meeting timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Clarify orders with system component suppliers, defining functional, technical, and commercial scopes.
• Define work packages and prioritise tasks based on responsibilities, urgency, and project needs.
• Consult with customers and suppliers (e.g., architects, construction firms, technical service providers, IT specialists) to clarify interfaces and responsibilities.
• Develop and manage implementation and commissioning concepts, including on-site team coordination.
• Foster strong customer relationships through proactive communication and expectation management.
• Prepare decision-making documents for senior management and present project outcomes to clients and internal leadership.
• Willingness to travel globally for project assignments, even for longer durations.

Education

• Degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
• PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification is highly desirable.

Experience

• Proven experience managing large-scale technical projects, e.g., plant engineering projects, ideally involving system installations.
• At least ten years of experience in project and site management for large-scale plant projects (e.g., automated intralogistics, print works or production facilities), including leadership of international teams.
• Familiarity with the cash industry, including product portfolios, processes, and customer requirements is a plus.
