Field Service Engineer – Semiconductor Systems

System Architect - Sensors / SoC We are currently partnered with a leading provider of advanced semiconductor inspection equipment, supporting cutting-edge technologies in optics, lasers, robotics, and precision mechanics. The team is expanding and is looking for a Field Service Engineer to deliver technical support, installations, troubleshooting, and software assistance for customers across a range of high-precision semiconductor systems. This is a permanent position based onsite in Dresden, Germany with regular travel (both in Germany and internationally). Key Responsibilities for this Field Service Engineer position:Perform installations, repairs, preventive maintenance, and calibrations of semiconductor inspection equipment at customer sites.Respond to customer service calls, providing on-site, remote, and over-the-phone troubleshooting support.Escalate unresolved issues with thorough documentation, including field service reports and system logs.Train customers on safe operation, maintenance, and application use of equipment.Support customer applications and serve as liaison with software/application teams.Contribute to knowledge sharing, mentoring junior engineers, and improving service processes.Manage company parts, tools, and maintain a clean, safe working environment.Collaborate with international teams and work flexible hours as needed, including occasional travel. Key Requirements:Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.2+ years of experience in semiconductor equipment service or related technical support roles.Strong troubleshooting skills in optics, lasers, robotics, precision mechanics, and related systems.Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics and knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, and vacuum/thermodynamics.Proficiency with hand tools, digital multimeters, and general lab equipment.Prior experience with installation, maintenance, or service of capital semiconductor equipment.Experience supporting software or programming aspects of semiconductor systems.
