We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied internship in the field of Data Engineering for Generative Artificial Intelligence, with a particular focus on Vision-Language Models. You'll contribute to pioneering technologies that shape the future of mobility.

What awaits you?

• You will support the design of algorithms for vehicle functions and gain insight into vehicle development.
• Furthermore, you help to build and maintain high-quality datasets for Vision-Language tasks such as Image Captioning, VQA, and Video Analysis.
• In addition, you contribute to data preprocessing, cleaning, annotation, and quality assurance of large-scale multimodal automotive datasets.
• Moreover, you will assist in evaluating data quality using state-of-the-art GenAI models.
• You will help to collaborate with an interdisciplinary and international team of AI researchers and engineers.
• Additionally, you gain insights into algorithm design for vehicle functions and the broader vehicle development process.

What should you bring along?

• Studies in computer science, data science, AI/ML or a related STEM field.
• Strong programming skills in Python; experience with PyTorch and common ML/AI libraries is a plus.
• Familiarity with data engineering tools and frameworks such as pandas, NumPy, Spark or SQL.
• Experience with image processing techniques using libraries like OpenCV or Pillow is an advantage.
• Interest in Vision-Language Models and multimodal GenAI methods.
• Ability to structure complex problems and contribute in a solution-oriented way.
• Fluent English skills; German is a plus.
