What You’ll Do

As part of RISE with SAP, several strategic and large customers begin their transformation journey towards Cloud with an enhanced delivery model. The ECS Large Customer Operations Organization (LCO) has been set up to provide strategic, focused services with a dedicated team within SAP Enterprise Cloud Services for these customers. Acting in LCO as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will focus on optimizing all related activities—from planning to execution, implementation, and operational support—and ensure the team is trained to scale.

Your Key Responsibilities And Tasks Include

• Represent the entire portfolio of value‑add services in SAP’s Enterprise Cloud Services engagements
• Analyze current landscape setups, goals, and challenges to suggest ECS continuous improvement solutions and innovation
• Execute proactive periodic support and maintenance activities
• Design software lifecycle procedures in close collaboration with ECS cloud operations and support application service delivery in all lifecycle phases
• Define a roadmap for innovation adoption with subject matter experts, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to ensure excellent customer satisfaction
• Drive Customer Success for ECS LCO, delivering expected outcomes to the customer
• Focus on continuous improvement and innovation opportunities based on the ECS portfolio
• Mentor and guide junior members of the team

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management, Mathematics, or a comparable field
• 7+ years of technical operations experience as a Database Administrator in a global operations team on SAP HANA and/or ASE database platforms
• Proven experience as an IT system landscape architect with a track record of leading complex architecture setups across distributed systems in SAP technology contexts
• Technical experience on ECS‑supported hyperscalers (Azure, AWS, GCP) and private cloud; hyperscaler certification is a plus
• Strong technical experience with end‑to‑end automation for provisioning, operating, and lifecycle management of SAP system landscapes
• Deep knowledge of operating systems—RHEL or SUSE advanced certification is a plus
• Exposure to automation tools, scripting, or processes
• Experience with DB installations, upgrades, planning, setup, and implementation
• Technical expertise in optimizing and tuning systems, performance optimization, DB security, backup and recovery strategies, high availability, disaster recovery, replication, and migration
• Professional certification of database platforms with exposure to project management tasks including PMP and ITIL certifications is a plus
• High degree of personal maturity, goal orientation, and the ability to work well with highly technical experts
• Experience in handling arising security issues is a benefit
