Junior / Business Consultant SAP FICO

As a Junior / Business Consultant SAP FICO, you'll play a vital role in bridging the gap between our team and the business. Your proficiency in Finance, which includes Accounting, Controlling, Treasury, Taxation & Accounts Receivables, as well as SAP will enable you to offer valuable consultation to internal business partners at all levels. Respectful and collaborative communication is key in this role, matching your preferred tone.
Be part of our global IT Group Functions & Supply Chain Finance A2R EMEA team based in Ingelheim and drive finance-related IT initiatives and projects for all Boehringer Ingelheim affiliates around the world.

Tasks & responsibilities

• As an interface between IT and finance departments, you will advise internal business partners on all financial matters. For this, you will identify their requirements and develop innovative proposals for process adjustments and technology-based solutions.
• Being part of a project team, you will coordinate both internal and external activities to implement business requirements.
• With your technical experience, you will further develop our SAP applications (innovatively) and provide new solutions/applications.
• In addition, you will check and maintain IT solutions, take on analysis tasks and participate in project teams, which ensure ongoing maintenance, optimization, 3rd-level support, and technology consulting.
• Furthermore, you will actively follow IT trends and technologies to advance the digitization of our financial processes, the focus here is on the SAP S/4 HANA integration with other cloud applications.

• You will manage large (agile) IT projects and programs with high complexity.
• Furthermore, you will work with external partners to ensure mutually beneficial cooperation.
• In the SAP FICO area, you will interact with our stakeholders at management and senior management level to enforce process, architecture and roadmap decisions.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in information technology, business informatics, or a comparable course of study
• First years of professional experience in the IT or financial environment with process knowledge in finance
• Sound knowledge in FI & CO modules in SAP S/4 HANA as well as SAP ECC is a must, knowledge of other finance applications (e.g. Blackline SmartClose) is advantageous
• Methodological knowledge in system design, development and implementation over the entire system lifecycle
• Ability to debug in ABAP are a must, ABAP coding skills are beneficial
• Willingness to learn about IT & SAP Trends (AI, Machine Learning, SAP BTP etc.) as well as hands‑on experience in a virtual, international, and multicultural context are required
• Strong communication skills in German and English (oral and written) as well as the willingness to support international projects and to be present on‑site at least 2‑3 days/week

• Several years of professional IT experience, including a proven track record in functioning as an interface to internal and external business partners
• Proven project management experience in large and complex IT projects and programs
• Excellent negotiating skills and strong capacity to build consensus within a larger group of stakeholders
