Network Infrastructure Install Lead DCC Communities, Infrastructure Delivery

We are expanding our technician teams within the EMEA regions and have openings for a Install Lead. This is an entry level position and a unique opportunity to work in some of the most innovative and fast paced data centers in the world.

The Infrastructure Delivery team is responsible for the scaling and physical deployment of new data center infrastructure. As part of that team the Install Lead will be primarily tasked with project managing small to large cabling projects within the data centers and overseeing cabling vendor personnel teams. The ideal candidate is a self-starter motivated individual with a willingness to learn and upskill. The candidate must be able to perform repetitive tasks and adhere to standard processes and best practices. Candidates will be working in a team environment and must be able to communicate and promote cross-team functionality.

This position has a physical component and may require working in cramped spaces or elevated locations.

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. Key job responsibilities

• Adhere to security and safety best practices in the data center.
• Invent new processes and improvements within an ever evolving company.
• Experience managing vendors.
• Read basic layout drawings and floor plans.
• Plan under pressure.
• Meet tight deadlines.
• Adhere to defined escalation processes and standard operating procedures.
• Project manage multiple projects with the ability to deliver within designated time frames.
• Work in noisy areas with hotter and colder temperatures than standard office environmental conditions.
• Work from heights, ladders, MEWPs.
• Travel within the geographical work area (e.g., move from data center to data center; some overseas travel may be required).

• Knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment and troubleshooting methodologies
• Knowledge of IT system hardware and network concepts
• Can lift and rack equipment up to 40 pounds
• Project management experience or supervisory experience; strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, high quality standards
• Certifications & Experience: Industry-standard certifications (CompTIA, GitHub & GUILDS Cabling cert or equivalent). 25 years of cabling installation experience.
• Previous experience in a Data Center environment including racking & stacking gear and high-standard cable installation; leadership & project management: supervisory experience managing a cabling team.
• Project management background. Technical & documentation skills: Proficient in computer use including emails, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with document writing.
