Operations Manager / Area Manager Logistics - Lichtenfels near Coburg or Deißlingen near Freiburg

Main workplace: Lichtenfels (near Coburg / Bayreuth / Bamberg) or Deißlingen (near Freiburg / Tübingen / Konstanz). Willingness to travel is expected as you will be responsible for both sites. We are seeking an Operations Manager, Area Manager Logistics, Data Analyst or comparable as a Station Area Manager.

Operations is the beating heart of Amazon. This key part of our business ensures we fulfil and dispatch orders efficiently so that customers receive their items on time. As a Station Area Manager, you’ll ensure sites run smoothly to meet customer demand. You will review station KPIs and processes, manage stakeholders, and drive projects across the network to improve safety, efficiency and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Create, oversee, and drive a culture of safety and wellbeing
  • Analyse and implement changes to maintain high quality and productivity
  • Oversee projects to streamline processes, optimise productivity and increase service quality for customers in your area
  • Analyse station performance against business objectives and implement actions to improve operational excellence
  • Collaborate with management-level colleagues to standardise practices

A day in the life

You’ll typically work early shift (start at 6:00 am) and ensure sites are productive. Your focus will be to own and drive a culture of safety, uphold quality and station performance standards, oversee process improvements, and drive implementation. A typical day includes stakeholder management, daily operational responsibilities, process improvements and wide-scale contingency tasks.

About The Team

Amazon Extra Large (AMXL) manages heavy items like furniture and large home appliances. The team handles the entire service from supply chain fulfilment to delivery and returns, including unpacking, installation, and removal of old items where needed. The focus is on safety, productivity and innovation as we grow specialist fulfilment centres and delivery stations across the UK and Europe.

Basic Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in a logistics or data-driven environment (e.g., as Operations Manager or Data Analyst)
  • Relevant experience in stakeholder management or people management
  • Experience using data or anecdotal evidence to influence business decisions
  • Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and German

Preferred Qualifications

  • A university degree
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen techniques
  • Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional environment
