We are partnered with a deep‑tech semiconductor start‑up who are seeking an experienced PCB/Application Engineer!

This role sits at the intersection of hardware, firmware, and software - ideal for someone who enjoys working across disciplines to deliver cutting‑edge solutions.

You will design, validate, and document measurement processes for advanced electronic systems while working hands‑on with instrumentation, FPGA‑based platforms, and automation tools. The position also involves customer‑facing demonstrations and trade fair presentations, where you will showcase technical capabilities in a clear and professional manner.

Key Responsibilities

PCB Design & Prototyping

Design, modify, and review PCBs for evaluation boards.
Ensure compliance with high‑speed digital design requirements, including signal integrity, impedance control, and JESD protocol–based interfaces.
Collaborate with hardware teams to optimize layouts for electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing needs.

FPGA Development & Integration

Develop FPGA logic for measurement, data acquisition, and control.
Integrate FPGA modules with instruments and automation environments.

GUI & Automation Development

Build intuitive, user‑friendly GUIs for FPGA‑based systems and measurement tools.
Connect GUIs with backend Python scripts and hardware APIs.
Develop and maintain Python‑based measurement scripts for automation, FPGA communication, and data analysis.

Measurement & Documentation

Create structured, repeatable measurement procedures and configuration files.
Produce clear, accessible documentation to ensure traceability and reproducibility.

Your Profile

Proven PCB design experience with high‑speed interfaces and signal integrity expertise.
Solid FPGA development skills (VHDL, Verilog, or SystemVerilog) with familiarity in Xilinx/Intel toolchains.
Strong background in GUI design and automation scripting (Python).
Skilled in instrument control protocols and measurement automation.
Detail‑oriented with excellent troubleshooting ability.
Knowledge of signal processing, high‑speed digital design, or RF measurement is a plus.

Qualifications

6+ years of professional experience in relevant roles.
BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering, Microelectronics, or a related field .
