A Snapshot of Your Day

As part of our team, you will support and enable the project and development teams of gas turbine, steam turbine, and generator auxiliaries to design and engineer safe products. Your expertise mediates between technical requirements and conformity with standards and regulations. The workday varies – you will balance planned tasks with operational challenges that involve interaction with internal colleagues, suppliers, or customers. You will share your knowledge within the global safety community and shift priorities to support urgent, unplanned work packages, such as commissioning tasks or site issue resolution. You will collaborate with a global cross‑organizational team that spans diverse technical and cultural backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Serve as interface partner and mediator between technical disciplines to ensure development and project execution of safe products.
• Participate in internal/external working groups and committees to shape the landscape of standards and regulations for product and functional safety.
• Act as the face of the customer, representing Siemens Energy’s philosophy on safety and product compliance.
• Support a wide range of organizations such as R&D, New Builds and Service with safety‑related questions—from task‑force assistance to process consulting.
• Hold global technical responsibility for your discipline, including participation in gate decisions, project reviews, and/or audits.
• Review and consult Component/Technology Owners on maintaining procedures and philosophies.
• Provide consulting to the organization to develop technical solutions that comply with regulatory requirements and customer needs.

Qualifications

• University degree in engineering or technical studies.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in product and functional safety with in‑depth expertise in relevant standards and regulations, preferably for large rotating equipment.
• Strong background in high‑level regulations such as MD, PED, Explosion Protection, and optional knowledge in adjacent fields to functional and product safety (e.g., operations, process technology, plant concepts).
• Proven competency in risk evaluation and risk‑management methods, and a record as a technical advisor.
• Willingness and excellent skillset to collaborate across disciplines to develop innovative solutions.
• Enthusiasm for detail and successful implementation of solutions.
• Active collaboration and knowledge exchange with experts in the community and selected contacts in other communities (linking pins).
