GE Vernova – Join our team as a Sales Leader in Central Europe, driving the Grid Automation (GA) portfolio across DACH, Eastern Europe, and CIS countries. This customer‑facing, staff‑responsible role supports the transition to digital, electrifying industry, and renewable energy integration.

Job Description

GE Vernova is experiencing hyper‑growth. Within the Grid Automation (GA) Business Line, you will lead the sales team in Central Europe, overseeing teams in DACH, Eastern Europe, and CIS to help customers in their energy transition by digitalizing grids, electrifying industry, and integrating renewable energy sources.

This role reports directly to the GA Central Europe P&L Leader and includes commercial policy objectives, operating budgets, and moderate autonomy for commercial arrangements.

Main Responsibilities

  • Oversee sales of the full GA portfolio, including products, services, solutions, and projects.
  • Develop and execute market strategies for DACH (as team lead), Eastern Europe, and CIS regions with local sales teams.
  • Manage forecasts in Salesforce (CRP), deliver order intake, and meet margin targets.
  • Lead GA Sales Managers and Specialists, aligning them with strategy, plans, and policies – around 20 FTEs across all countries.
  • Support the P&L leader in transforming sales teams toward software and services, identifying digitization needs.
  • Shape go‑to‑market strategies, negotiate agreements, support tender managers, and drive customer negotiations.
  • Identify new opportunities, support digital transformation toward software/services sales, and foster innovation with partners.
  • Support Tender Managers in formulating deal structure, assessing risks, pricing, and developing proposals.
  • Interpret internal and external challenges and recommend best practices to improve products, processes, or services.

Your Profile

  • Bachelor or master’s degree in a commercial/focused discipline.
  • Strong commercial awareness, specialized knowledge, and leadership skills to manage teams, interpret challenges, influence strategy, and communicate complex concepts.
  • Solid prior experience in product/software sales within the energy business, with commercial customer knowledge and relationships.
  • Minimum of 5 years leading a sales team in a large international environment.
  • Ability to understand and improve cross‑functional processes.
  • Fluency in German and English; other languages a plus.
  • Knowledge of pricing, costs, and product accounting with analytical skills.
  • Experience conducting market assessments and implementing commercial strategies.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time (primarily DACH & Poland, open to international travel).

Desired Characteristics

  • Extensive experience in Grid Automation (P&C products and services) and software selling services (Digital Substation, Asset Performance Management tools via cloud/SaaS, cyber security, distribution automation).
