The Opportunity

We are recruiting a
Senior Accounts Payable Specialist
to join the leading European space organisation. You will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth processing of supplier invoices, managing accounts payable workflows, and contributing to financial operations within a high-tech, mission-driven environment.

This is a position where you will engage with internal stakeholders, support the finance team in timely payments, resolve discrepancies, and ensure that processes comply with regulatory and internal standards. Key Responsibilities

• Review and post incoming invoices and special ledger items (SAP S4/HANA workflows).
• Record and reconcile banking transactions.
• Handle vendor invoices tied to fixed assets/capital accounting.
• Execute payment runs in SAP.
• Monitor the accounts payable and open items.
• Review and process credit card statements in compliance with internal policies.
• Collaborate closely with procurement, finance, and controlling colleagues to resolve variances or process issues.

Essential Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in accounts payable/vendor accounting roles.
• Strong knowledge of German and European VAT/tax rules.
• Experience working with purchase order–related invoices (e.g. via SAP MM).
• Proficiency with SAP S4/HANA or similar ERP systems.
• High sense of ownership, accuracy, and a hands-on mentality.
• Ability to thrive in a team environment and collaborate across functions.
• Fluent English; German skills are a plus.
• Must be an EU citizen

Desirable Skills

• Prior experience in finance roles within high-growth, technical, or aerospace/engineering organisations.
• Familiarity with internal control frameworks, audit requirements, or accounting standards.
• Exposure to process improvement initiatives or automation in finance.
