Senior Analyst - EMEA Light Vehicle Production Forecasting (German‑speaking) - S&P Global
We are looking for an analyst to strengthen our team in the European, Middle East, and Africa vehicle production analytics.
About the Role
As a Vehicle Analyst in the Automotive team you will support the development and maintenance of detailed and up-to-date forecasts on the dynamics of the European & MEA light vehicle sales/production environment, supporting the needs of top OEMs and Supplier clients.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Researching and analysing the European and Middle East/Africa (MEA) vehicle production market and representing this scope of knowledge to clients through forecasts, custom reports and intelligence briefings.
- Using specialised knowledge of the automotive market in Europe and MEA to enrich the S&P Global Mobility databases.
- Understanding and applying our methodologies, effectively utilising our tools and data sources to form sound forecast conclusions, and supporting forecast assumptions with clients constructively.
- Providing commentary with analysis and rationale supporting vehicle forecasting.
- Networking with key contacts in the automotive market to validate data and exchange intelligence.
- Ensuring that all services for which responsibility is held are produced and maintained at the highest quality levels and consistently delivered on a timely basis.
- Providing analytical support to clients both face‑to‑face and online.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum requirement: undergraduate degree in business, economics, or a form of mechanical/electrical engineering. Business and economics would be preferable.
- Typically more than 5 years of experience executing market research activities for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 automotive component supplier, or direct vehicle production forecasting at an automotive forecast/analysis firm, or automotive component purchasing at a vehicle manufacturer.
- Fluency in German and English at a business level; an additional third language is an advantage.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
- Above average communication skills, including writing, interpersonal, listening, and presentation skills for large and small audiences.
- Organisational skills demonstrating the ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize under pressure toward tight deadlines.
- Strong analytical and database manipulation skills.
- Flexibility and creative problem‑solving ability.
- Well‑developed relationship‑building skills.
