Senior Backend Engineer Production (m,f,x)

Within Fulfillment the Production Team focuses on the digital systems that enable efficient production processes, orchestrating how ingredients and components come together to create the final HelloFresh box. We develop the technology backbone that ensures our production operations run smoothly, reliably and flexibly.

What you’ll do

• Design, develop and maintain backend services powering HelloFresh’s production systems.
• Work primarily with Python and C#/.NET leveraging our ServiceStack-based service architecture.
• Take ownership of the full development lifecycle from implementation to deployment and ongoing operations following DevOps and CI/CD principles.
• Collaborate closely with a cross‑functional agile team—including product, frontend, data and operations—to deliver impactful production solutions.
• Contribute to system reliability, scalability and performance improvements.
• Participate in architectural discussions and help refine our technical direction as we continue to evolve our production technology.
• Mentor team members, share knowledge and advocate for best engineering practices across the team.

What you’ll bring

• Strong backend development experience with Python and C#/.NET (both required).
• Experience with microservice or service‑oriented architectures, ideally using ServiceStack.
• Solid understanding of DevOps and CI/CD principles and experience with containerised environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with event‑driven or message‑based systems (e.g., RabbitMQ).
• Strong knowledge of software design principles, TDD/BDD/DDD and distributed system patterns.
• Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL.
• A collaborative mindset and passion for mentoring, continuous learning and process improvement.
• A proactive, curious and solution‑oriented approach to problem‑solving.
