YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES Architect of a Tech-Agnostic System: Lead the development of a core design system with design tokens that can be used by different front-end frameworks (Web Components, Angular, etc.).Bridge between Design & Dev: Be the link between design and engineering, creating tech-specific "flavors" of the system and making sure components are implemented perfectly.Champion of Systems Thinking & Governance: Define how the system is contributed to, maintained, and managed, ensuring quality and consistency.Pioneer of AI Integration: Explore and implement AI for things like component generation, documentation, and accessibility checks.Lead, Mentor, Advocate: Be a global evangelist for the design system, presenting its value, leading workshops, and mentoring others. YOUR EXPERIENCE IS WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR Who you are: A mix of designer and engineer, comfortable with complex challenges, passionate about empowering others7+ years in product design, with 3+ years specifically on building and managing enterprise design systemsDeep expertise in Figma (variables, components, libraries)Can actually write front-end code (HTML, CSS, JavaScript)A portfolio showing off rigorous, structured systems thinking, not just pretty UIsShow how you made scalable, tech-agnostic solutions and managed tokensAmazing collaboration and communication skills, can explain complex things to anyone, and present confidentlyBoth oral and written fluency in English (minimum C1), and German (minimum B2)Permanent residence in Germany is mandatory (Employment from abroad is not possible)Willingness to travel to client’s locations in GermanyExperience or strong interest in using AI in design systems (docs, code gen, accessibility)Deep understanding of accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA+)Experience designing for multiple platforms (web, iOS, Android) ___ THE USER EXPERIENCE COMPANY OF ALLIANZ.
