The OpportunityWe’re seeking a Senior Propulsion Valve Development Engineer to join a world-class European launch vehicle program, helping to shape the next generation of orbital access. You’ll play a pivotal role in the design, development, and qualification of engine valves across multiple propulsion system applications from early-stage concept through to serial production.
This is a hands-on position where you’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams, contribute directly to test campaigns, and help ensure high performance, reliability, and safety across the propulsion system lifecycle. Key ResponsibilitiesDefine requirements and specifications for propulsion valves in collaboration with internal teams.Design, calculate, and review valve concepts and support design reviews.Prepare manufacturing documentation, oversee production, and resolve manufacturing challenges.Oversee and optimise valve assembly processes.Plan, supervise, and evaluate valve tests (development, acceptance, qualification, and integrated testing).Support integrated system testing and analyse test data.Ensure component and system reliability through testing, reviews, and continuous improvement.
Essential Skills & ExperienceM.Sc. or M.Eng. in Aerospace, Mechanical, or similar engineering discipline.Hands-on experience with test setup, execution, and data analysis.Strong understanding of machining processes, CAD modelling, and drawings (SolidWorks or Siemens NX).Expertise in solenoid valve development and associated electrical circuit design.Familiarity with Python or similar programming languages for data analysis.Good understanding of rocket propulsion systems and fluid dynamics.Collaborative approach to working within cross-functional teams.Willingness to travel for testing and launch campaigns.Fluent in English.
Desirable SkillsExperience in valve or rocket engine development.Hands-on testing experience with cryogenic fluids and oxygen-compatible systems.Knowledge of technical drawing standards and materials science.
