Job Overview

The Senior Employee Relations (ER) Manager ensures Amazon’s readiness regarding upcoming EU regulations and manages trade unions, employee engagement, and organizational transformation across the EU. This role is part of the Employee Experience and Relations (EXR) team, reporting directly to the EU EXR Risk, Project & Compliance leader. It involves collaboration with stakeholders at various levels, including country, Business lines (BL), pan-EU, and global teams, particularly the Global Labor Relations Team. The goal is to enhance compliance, foster positive employee engagement, and improve Amazon’s agility in managing complex situations.

Location & Travel

This role can be based in France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Luxembourg, or the UK. Travel up to 30% within the EU is required.

Key Responsibilities

EU Regulatory Compliance and Coordination

  • Coordinate efforts related to upcoming EU regulations, working with Public Policy to identify and analyze regulations, supporting gap analysis, and preparing country-level actions.
  • Manage compliance plans for directives like CSRD and CSDDD.

Third-Party Strategy Management

  • Lead pan-EU strategy for third-party activities, stay updated on trends, develop engagement strategies, and advise on management practices.

Employee Engagement & Pride Campaigns

  • Design training to build ER capacity, collaborate on campaigns to boost employee pride, and lead initiatives to improve sentiment.

Labor Relations Framework Development

  • Develop frameworks for major transformation cycles to standardize processes, reduce costs, and increase stakeholder satisfaction.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Employment Law, Industrial Relations, or related field.
  • Experience managing Employee and Labor Relations across the EU, including stakeholder engagement at the federation level.
  • Fluency in English (C2) and at least one other European language (French, Spanish, Italian, German).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in a related field.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
