In Munich, Germany, LivaNova is looking for a new innovative, ambitious talent to join our Innovation Unit – Quality Engineering. As a Team Lead, you will expand and support the advancement of our product portfolio and value generation.

Position Summary

You will be a key contributor to the quality engineering strategy for our cardiopulmonary equipment (software‑based electro‑mechanical systems) development and manufacturing processes, ensuring superior quality and device effectiveness. In this role you will support manufacturing, supply chain, design controls, and other quality system activities – locally and globally.

General Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage and develop a team of quality engineers and technicians, running daily operations in alignment with medical device regulations.
  • Perform and execute problem‑solving to remediate issues across operations quality, design assurance, manufacturing assurance and sustaining operations.
  • Lead non‑conforming material management processes – disposition, risk evaluation, root‑cause failure investigation, corrective and preventive actions.
  • Partner with cross‑functional teams and suppliers to improve product performance.
  • Ensure CAPA process implementation.
  • Conceptualize and develop testing for qualifications, material inspections and risk evaluation.
  • Provide resource support for new‑generation product projects, value engineering and manufacturing optimization.
  • Perform data analysis and lead associated improvements, conceptualizing data‑driven process improvements.
  • Maintain risk‑management processes.
  • Establish and improve processes surrounding the job role.

Skills And Experience

  • Engineering degree preferably in electronics, electrical, or mechatronics engineering.
  • Consolidated experience in medical device quality function for design/R&D and manufacturing operations.
  • Strong working knowledge of quality engineering fundamentals, methods and tools.
  • Knowledge of quality system and quality engineering principles in the medical device industry.
  • Sound fundamentals in engineering and physics principles.
  • Experience in problem‑solving and root‑cause analysis processes.
  • Knowledge of quality engineering statistics; experience with Minitab, Power BI is preferable.
  • Fundamental skills in Lean and Six Sigma.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English and German.
  • Strong leadership skills and ability to influence team members and cross‑functional peers.
  • Effective communication – clear, fact‑based, detail‑oriented, open, honest, and receptive to feedback.
  • Team player, adept at establishing contacts, networks, and resolving conflicts.
  • Result‑oriented: ability to prioritize independently, plan and drive activities, understanding internal and external stakeholder expectations.
  • Proactive mindset to find opportunities and drive improvements.
  • Assertive and able to express oneself.
  • Curious with an innovative mindset.
  • 25% travel may be required.
