Head of Operations at Alsys International | Changing laboratories by Increasing accuracy and production processes

Global Technical Sales Expert

About Alsys International

At Alsys International, we’re redefining laboratory analysis with modular robots that automate sample preparation and integrate directly with instruments (e.g. IC, titration, spectroscopy, ICP, etc.). Our systems run 24/7, lift repeat work off analysts, and deliver faster, more consistent results for production, service and QC labs. We are active in many industries like fertilizers, chemicals and mining. We’ve processed tens of millions of samples and bring 25+ years of domain know‑how to every deployment.

Why candidates choose us

  • Mission with real impact: We build “autonomous laboratories” that improve quality, safety, and sustainability in many industries — freeing analysts to focus on higher-value science.
  • Proven, not prototype: 25+ years in lab automation and millions of samples processed back our tech and roadmap.
  • End-to-end integrations: Our robots are designed by analysts for analysts and integrate with IC, titration, spectroscopy/ICP and more - so you’re solving full workflows, not selling boxes.
  • Agile culture: Small, expert team; short decision lines; real ownership from first conversation to commissioning (and the wins to prove it).

The Role

Own the technical-to-commercial lifecycle for Alsys lab automation solutions across global accounts - discovery, workflow mapping, designing from a modular database, proposals, and handover - integrating with customer analytical stacks (e.g., IC, Titration, direct measurements, GC, LC, MS, ICP and more).

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage sales pipelines from first meeting to close, while documenting in CRM
  • Translate lab workflows into automation solutions, from sample intake to CoA
  • Present our cutting edge solutions to customers on trade shows and direct meetings
  • Prepare proposals and negotiate terms to successful closure.
  • Coordinate stakeholders (lab, QA/production, EHS, procurement, execs) and internal engineering/service.
  • Travel: 30–50% worldwide to customers/events; quarterly travel to Sassenheim HQ .
  • Frankfurt office: On-site collaboration welcome but not required (1–2 days/week if within reach).

Candidate Profile

Must-Haves

  • University Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Biology, or comparable.
  • Technical foundation in analytical chemistry or process analytics with hands‑on experience in GC, LC, MS, or ICP (other techniques also welcome).
  • 3‑8+ years in technical sales/application engineering for lab instrumentation, automation, process analytics, or capital equipment.
  • Proven ability to map workflows, design automation, and quantify ROI.
  • Excellent communication skills from lab bench discussions to boardroom meetings.
  • Willingness to travel 30–50% worldwide and visit HQ in the Netherlands 4x/year.
  • Fluent in English ; any other language is a plus

Nice-to-Haves

  • Sales or applications experience in QC/process/service labs
  • Experience integrating automation with LIMS/MES/SCADA or instrument software
  • Analyzer software knowledge is a big plus (e.g. Empower, OpenLab, Chromelion)
  • GMP knowledge is a plus
  • Strong skills in MS office suite

What You’ll Work With

  • Modular lab robots enabling automated sample prep and integrated analysis, advancing efficiency, safety, and product quality.
  • A cross-functional European team with deep sample-prep/analytical automation expertise.

Success Looks Like

  • Shorter sample-to-result times with improved repeatability and compliance.
  • Multi-site wins and referenceable deployments in target industries.
  • Clear, quantified ROI for customers.
  • Competitive base + uncapped commission/bonus.
  • Travel support, home-office stipend, and professional development.
  • High-impact role in a growing global automation player.
