Mechanical Development Engineer - Drone Technologies (m/f/d)

Quantum Systems specialises in the development, design, and production of small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS). The company's range of electric vertical take‑off and landing (eVTOL) sUAS are built to maximise range and versatility and to provide operators with a seamless user experience. By integrating cutting‑edge software capabilities, such as edge computing and real‑time AI‑powered data processing, Quantum Systems is building next‑generation UAS for clients in defence, security and the public sector.

Responsibilities

• Development and design of UAV structural components and manufacturing tools (CATIA V5)
• Design and calculation (MATLAB, Python, VB.NET, Excel)
• Creation of technical drawings and manufacturing documents
• Integration of subsystems and payload in UAV on the hardware level
• Construction and testing of prototypes and support of small series production
• Product maintenance
• Development of the process chain of the Mechanical Hardware Design department

Qualifications

• You have completed a university degree in aerospace, mechanical engineering or automotive engineering.
• You already have practical experience in CAD development and working with a PLM system.
• You have good working knowledge of CATIA V5 and familiarity with common plastics manufacturing processes.
• You are privately interested in modelling or 3D printing.
• Due to your open, communicative, friendly and competent attitude, you are easy to consider as an internal expert.
• You are highly self‑motivated and drive your area of responsibility independently.
• Communication in English is a matter of course for you.
