Quality Team Lead

I’m supporting one of the world’s largest suppliers of manufactured automotive parts, trusted by leading OEMs including VW, Mercedes, Porsche, and BMW. Are you an experienced professional ready to step into a visible leadership role in a high-pressure production environment? This is an excellent opportunity to join a global manufacturer producing high-end components for the automotive sector. The RoleAs Quality Team Lead (QTL), you will take day-to-day ownership of quality operations on site, leading a team of 6. You’ll be the bridge between production, customers, and suppliers, ensuring that all products meet stringent OEM standards. This position combines hands-on shop-floor engagement with structured problem solving, coaching, and leadership. You will:Monitor daily quality performance, analyse deviations, and take swift corrective actions.Lead quality planning and documentation (FMEA, APQP, PPAP, Control Plans, SPC, MSA).Drive root cause analysis using tools such as 8D, 5Why, Fishbone, Pareto, and PFMEA.Manage dimensional issues, deciding whether to rework, use, or scrap parts.Ensure effective communication with production, suppliers, and OEM customers.Coach and develop the team, hold daily workload and performance reviews, and foster accountability.Plan and monitor metrology, audits, and product approvals in line with IATF 16949 and VDA 6.3. RequirementsAutomotive sector background (Tier-1 or Tier-2 supplier level) – essential.Deep knowledge of IATF 16949, VDA 6.3 (certification big plus).Hands-on experience with 8D, 5Why, PFMEA, APQP, PPAP, MSA, SPC.Track record of managing and improving performance in quality teams.Confident under pressure and comfortable making independent decisions on the shop floor.Degree in Engineering or related technical field.Fluent German (C1 minimum) and strong English communication skills.
