Senior Project Developer

We're working with an international renewable energy business to add a Senior Project Developer to support the growth of its German pipeline. This is a hands-on role focused on utility-scale solar PV and battery storage projects, with a strong emphasis on early-stage development, permitting, and stakeholder coordination. The company is in the early stages of building its internal development function, so this is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a small, agile team and wants to help shape internal processes from the ground up. Key ResponsibilitiesDrive the development of renewable energy projects (PV and/or BESS) from site control through to ready-to-build.Manage permitting processes, grid connection applications, and project timelines.Coordinate with internal teams (legal, land, grid, junior developers) and external consultants to ensure project milestones are met.Engage with local authorities, landowners, and other stakeholders to move projects forward.Contribute to internal reporting, risk assessments, and project documentation.Support the continuous improvement of development workflows and tools. RequirementsMinimum 5 years of experience in renewable energy project development (PV or BESS); more senior profiles (10–15+ years) are also welcome.Strong understanding of the German regulatory environment and permitting processes.Native or fluent German and good English skills.Work in Dusseldorf 2–3 days every other week (Company can cover travel and accommodation costs)Comfortable working in a lean, fast-paced environment with evolving processes.Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within Germany.
