Bavarian Health and Food Safety Authority (LGL)

The Bavarian Health and Food Safety Authority (LGL) is Bavaria’s central authority for food safety, health, veterinary medicine, occupational safety and product safety. The LGL deliberately combines different fields under one roof. The employees have different professional backgrounds, there are food analysts, physicians, veterinarians, engineers, physicists, pharmacists, psychologists, home economists, chemists, lab technicians, lawyers, biologists and further more professions. They work and interact crossing borders of their disciplines considering situations from different points of view. By this interdisciplinary One Health approach the LGL brings together all aspects of human and animal health.
