Position Overview: We are seeking aSenior Event Manager to join our dynamic international team. In this high-impact role, you will lead the planning and execution of our flagshipWorld News Media Congress , as well as a portfolio of other prominent global events. The ideal candidate is a seasoned event professional with a passion for delivering unforgettable experiences, exceptional organizational abilities, and a track record of managing complex, high-profile events.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead Event Management: Take ownership of the end-to-end planning and delivery of the annualWorld News Media Congress , hosted in global cities each year.
Project Oversight: Oversee the planning and logistics of multiple international events across various formats (Conferences, Workshops, Roundtable, etc).
Vendor & Venue Coordination: Source and manage venues and vendors, negotiate contracts, and maintain positive relationships with suppliers.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Coordinate cross-functional internal teams, including communications, sponsorship, editorial, and executive stakeholders.
Attendee Experience: Manage speaker and VIP logistics, including travel, accommodation, and personalized engagement.
Budget & Timeline Management: Develop and manage budgets, timelines, and detailed production schedules to ensure seamless execution.
Innovation & Best Practices: Stay ahead of industry trends and apply creative ideas to elevate the impact and value of WAN-IFRA’s events.

Requirements:

Valid work authorization inGermany, France, the UK, or Spain (Madrid) .
Bachelor's degree inEvent Management, Marketing, Communications, Tourism , or a related field.
Minimum 6 years of experience in event management, including international conferences, summits, webinars,and hybrid/virtual formats.
Fluent in English (spoken and written);proficiency in French or German is a strong plus.
Provenproject management skills, with the ability to lead multiple concurrent events from conception to execution.
Exceptionalcommunication and interpersonal skills , with the confidence to engage senior stakeholders and external partners across cultures.
Highlyorganized and detail-oriented , with a sharp focus on timelines, budgets, and customer experience.

Tech proficiency :

Solid working knowledge ofGoogle Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) andMicrosoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) .
Familiarity withproject management tools is an advantage.
Experience with tools likeCanva ,Salesforce , orAI-based productivity is a plus.
