Stellenbeschreibung:

I’m looking for a researcher with strong business judgment to rate the degree of business-model novelty for ~800 U.S. IPO firms across industries within a defined time window.
You’ll use a predefined, multi-dimensional scale based on academic literature (scale + codebook provided, but judgement requirement).


What you’ll do
• Review each firm’s materials (primarily S-1/IPO prospectus, company website, press/news articles, and other public sources).
• Assign dimension-level scores and an overall novelty score using the provided scale.
• Capture short justifications and evidence links for each rating.


Inputs & resources
• Firm list (tickers, names, IPO dates) is ready
• Academic paper with scoring scale + codebook template
• Template for data entry
• IPO text for most firms has been collected


Deliverables
Completed dataset for all assigned firms, including:
• Overall novelty score + scores by dimension
• 1–3 sentence rationale per firm (incl. references when possible)
• Flags for ambiguous/missing information


Required experience
• Business acumen & independent judgment: you can read a prospectus and understand how the business model of companies work (+ compare with others)
• Qualitative coding/academic research experience (e.g., rating/categorizing evidence, reliability checks).
• Comfortable working from ambiguous information; critical thinking over number-crunching.
• Clear, responsive communicator; strong written English
