Accounting Manager

Overview

Reporting to the CE&I Mail Director of Accounting, you will lead a small finance team and oversee and manage the finance operations across Germany and Switzerland. You will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with financial reporting, corporate taxes, payroll, and you'll be responsible for all operational finance. You will manage the German finance team including both internal and external resources, and you will be the key point of contact for both internal and external audit and local tax authorities. Your role will involve providing accurate monthly, quarterly and year end reporting, with complete data, and leading cash forecasting and managing bank accounts. You will work closely with the legal team to ensure regulatory and compliance adherence across all German and Swiss offices, and you will partner with regional leaders providing key financial insights for the region. You will collaborate with other finance teams to improve internal processes and ensure high-quality financial reporting that aligns with international standards and group requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead a finance team and oversee finance operations across Germany and Switzerland, ensuring compliance with financial reporting, corporate taxes and payroll.
• Manage the German finance team (internal and external resources) and serve as the primary contact for internal and external audits and local tax authorities.
• Provide accurate monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting, lead cash forecasting, and manage bank accounts.
• Collaborate with the legal team to ensure regulatory and compliance adherence across German and Swiss offices; partner with regional leaders to provide financial insights.
• Work with other finance teams to improve internal processes and ensure high-quality financial reporting aligned with international standards and group requirements.

Your profile / Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field; CPA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification preferred; 5-7 years of relevant finance experience; strong background in regional financial management.
• In-depth knowledge of German & Swiss financial regulations, tax laws, and compliance standards; familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Hyperion); advanced Excel proficiency.
• Proven experience in managing financial operations (reporting, payroll, cash and bank account management, and taxes) in multi-country environments; strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated experience partnering with senior leadership to drive business performance and strategic initiatives.
• Fluent in both German and English (verbal and written).
