Role Overview

This role oversees finance processes and controls for three entities, including one in France. Reporting to the Senior Accounting Manager based remotely in Dormagen, the role involves managing daily transactions, supervising an accountant in Berlin, and coordinating with an offshore team. Responsibilities include preparing reconciliations, group reporting, and ensuring compliance with external deadlines such as tax filings and statistical reports.

Team and Communication

You will join a motivated finance team serving other departments, the managing director, and the group finance team in Woburn MA, USA, along with the offshore team. External communication will primarily involve auditors and tax advisors in Germany and France.

What to Expect

Commercial Finance

• Bridge operational teams and finance to communicate and implement business initiatives
• Collaborate with the Senior Manager Accounting to improve finance processes
• Participate in ad hoc projects to support growth and efficiency

Reporting & Compliance

• Assist in preparing and reviewing US GAAP reports for three entities
• Supervise accounting teams in Germany and India, coordinate with French tax advisors
• Support annual accounts preparation under German HGB, French GAAP, and tax audits
• Perform key reconciliations and review general journals
• Oversee payroll and personnel finance matters

Your Qualifications

• Experienced accountant with leadership experience
• Fluent in English and German; French skills are a plus
• Experience in international, virtual teams across time zones
• Knowledge of multiple GAAPs, including US GAAP and German HGB
• Proficiency with ERP systems, preferably SAP
• Change management experience
• Dedicated, adaptable, and capable of managing high workload and shifting priorities
• Strong communication skills for effective interfacing at all levels
• Willingness to travel occasionally within EMEA and the USA
