Your Responsibilities

We are seeking a Senior AFOLU Carbon Project Developer to join our team and lead the development of high-quality carbon projects in the Agriculture, Forestry, and Other Land Use (AFOLU) sector. This role focuses on Improved Forest Management (IFM) and Afforestation, Reforestation, and Revegetation (ARR) projects, emphasizing project quality to achieve top ratings from credit agencies.

The successful candidate will strengthen our carbon project portfolio by collaborating with agencies such as Sylvera , BeZero , and Calyx Global , ensuring projects meet high standards of environmental integrity and market acceptance. This position requires extensive experience in carbon project development, knowledge of international standards, and expertise in project enhancement strategies.

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to climate action and build a pipeline of impactful carbon credits.

Your Responsibilities Will Be

1. Lead the development of AFOLU carbon projects, from feasibility to credit issuance.
2. Develop Project Design Documents (PDDs) according to VERRA VCS, Gold Standard, and CAR methodologies.
3. Conduct feasibility studies including carbon accounting, baseline development, and emission estimates.
4. Manage project timelines, budgets, and ensure compliance with standards.
5. Coordinate with verification bodies, standards organizations, and credit agencies.
6. Collaborate with environmental scientists, GIS specialists, and social impact experts.
7. Stay updated on carbon markets, methodologies, and regulations.

Your profile

1. Minimum 5+ years in AFOLU carbon project development; Bachelor's in Environmental Science, Forestry, Climate Science, Agriculture, or related field.
2. Proven experience with international standards and working with credit rating agencies.
3. Knowledge of forest management, ecological restoration, and agricultural systems.
4. Strong communication skills for stakeholder engagement and managing partnerships.
5. Excellent English skills; Spanish language skills are a plus.
