Who we are :

ACGF Afghan Credit Guarantee Foundation is a charitable foundation based in Cologne, Germany, with a second office in Berlin. Founded in September 2014 by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and DEG Deutsche Investitions- und Entwicklungsgesellschaft mbH (a member of the KFW Group), with further funding from the World Bank, the European Union, UNCDF, and KfW Development Bank.

Our mission is to improve access to finance for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Afghanistan by providing credit guarantees, grants, and technical assistance. ACGF is supported by its Afghan subsidiary SCSA SME Client Support Afghanistan LLC.

Position : Agriculture Finance Analyst (f/m)

for its Technical Assistance (TA) Department. As an Agriculture Finance Analyst, you will design, support, supervise, and manage technical assistance projects conducted in collaboration with international advisory firms for Partner Financial Institutions (PIs) and MSMEs. Travel to Afghanistan is possible but not mandatory; initially, hybrid work with regular travel to Cologne or Berlin is an option.

The TA Department handles financial sector development activities, including training, capacity building, MSME lending process improvements, digitalization, new product development, and coordination with donor agencies like the EU and World Bank.

Your responsibilities :

• Lead development of ACGF support activities in agriculture finance.
• Identify and manage end-to-end TA projects supporting agriculture finance, working closely with the TA team and high-level counterparts at PIs.
• Plan and design projects aligned with ACGF objectives and stakeholder needs, adhering to MSME finance best practices.
• Manage procurement and contracts for external consultants.
• Coordinate with ACGF departments, monitor external consultants, and collaborate with SCSA and other teams.
• Work with operations to enhance agri-lending portfolios and support ACGF’s guarantee operations.
• Support communication and impact reporting to donors and stakeholders.

Your profile :

• Degree in agriculture economics, international development, business administration, or similar.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in agricultural MSME finance, preferably in financial institutions, consulting, or development finance.
• Project management experience in development finance is advantageous.
• Excellent communication skills in English (oral and written).
• Proficiency in MS Office.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail, reliability, and ability to handle multiple tasks under pressure.
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment, independently, and as part of a team.
• Interest in development cooperation and, if applicable, valid work permit for Germany.
