AI & Machine Learning Engineer

AbbVie headquarters Europe is recruiting an AI & Machine Learning Engineer reporting to the AI & Machine Learning Engineer Lead for our BTS (Business Technical Solutions) team.

The AI Engineer will be responsible for the development, implementation and deployment operations of machine learning models and AI solutions to solve complex business problems and drive data‑driven decision‑making. This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders to identify machine learning opportunities and ensuring the successful deployment and maintenance of models. The AI & Machine Learning Engineer will play a critical role in advancing the organization's capabilities in predictive analytics, automation and artificial intelligence.

The position can be based in Paris, France; Wiesbaden, Germany or Madrid, Spain.

Your main responsibilities will be :

• Model Deployment: deploy machine learning models into production environments making them available for real‑time inference and ensuring scalability and reliability.
• Model Development: design, develop and implement advanced analytics models including machine learning algorithms and AI solutions.
• Collaboration: collaborate with data scientists and data engineers to design and implement robust deployment pipelines for continuous improvement of machine learning models.
• Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI / CD): implement and optimize CI / CD pipelines for machine learning models, automating testing and deployment processes.
• Monitoring and Logging: set up monitoring and logging solutions to track model performance, system health and anomalies, allowing for timely intervention and proactive maintenance.
• Version Control: implement version control systems for machine learning models and ensure that machine learning systems meet security and compliance standards, including data protection and privacy regulations.
• Documentation: maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of ML Ops processes and configurations.

Qualifications :

• Strong understanding of machine learning concepts, algorithms and deployment strategies.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and experience with relevant libraries and tools (e.g. TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit‑learn).
• Experience with DevOps principles and version control (Git preferred).
• Solid background in software development, version control systems (e.g. Git) and CI / CD pipelines.
• Excellent problem‑solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing technical challenges.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively across different teams.
• Good communication and presentation skills, being able to explain complex problems and the solutions applied, and comfortable in presenting technical solutions to a non‑technical audience.
• Strong business acumen and understanding of how analytics can drive business value.
