Job Title: Application Engineer/Administrator


We are looking for multiple Application Engineer/Administrators on behalf of and in support to our client based in The Hague, The Netherlands. This position is intended to be filled on a 100% off-site basis from anywhere within the EU.


Responsibilities:
• Application installation, configuration and administration
• Application monitoring and performance tuning
• Administration of security, access control, permissions
• Writing of application procedures manuals, including troubleshooting guides, backup and disaster recovery plans
• Application incident and problem management
• Coordination of application support

Mandatory Requirements:
• At least a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field; A Master’s degree is a strong asset
• At least 10 years of relevant work experience
• At least 6 years of experience working as an IT professional in mid/large IT infrastructure environments, including deployment, support and maintenance of applications
• At least 5 years of experience working as an IT professional in the area of application administration
• At least 2 years years of experience with micro-services, container orchestration and container-based stacks such as Docker or Kubernetes
• At least 2 years of experience administering and supporting Elasticsearch
• At least 5 years of experience working with enterprise Microsoft or Linux server solutions
• Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, ease of communication
• Excellent knowledge of software deployment management
• Good knowledge of DEVOPS and software release management
• Good knowledge of micro-services, container orchestration and container-based stacks using Kubernetes, Helm charts, Docker and Rancher
• Knowledge of application servers
• Knowledge of scripting, automation and deployment tools
• Knowledge of DBMS
• Good knowledge of ITIL, including the incident, change and release management processes
• Good knowledge of shell and/or PowerShell scripting
• Good knowledge of configuration management concepts and technologies (e.g. Puppet, Ansible, Chocolatey)
• Experience working with Public or Hybrid Cloud services and solutions (AZURE or AWS) is an asset
• Good knowledge of Kong API Gateway is an asset
• Good knowledge of relational databases (e.g. MS SQL, PostgreSQL) and how they interact with applications is an asset
• Able to cope with the fast changing technologies
• Ability to participate in multi-lingual meetings, excellent communicator
• Capability of working in an international/ multicultural environment
• Candidates must have or be eligible to obtain EU Secret level Personnel Security Clearance
• Candidates must be eligible to live and work in the EU
• Fluency in English, both written and spoken
